During our tour you will visit the Jewish quarter in the former separate town of Kazimierz, founded in the 14th century. There, you will see the former market square, town hall, Jewish synagogues, and the oldest tram depot. We will cross the oldest bridge over the largest river in Poland - the Vistula, to learn the history of the 19th century town of Podgórze. During World War II, the Nazis created a ghetto for the Jewish population in its area. You will see the famous ghetto heroes square and the pharmacy under the eagle. It was the place of tragic events, where residents were shot by the german soldiers or taken to concentration camp. In honor of their memory, a monument consisting of 70 metal chairs was created on this square. We will also drive through the former industrial area to see the buildings of Oskar Schindler's enamelware factory. The story of its owner and employees was presented in the film 'Schindler's List' directed by Steven Spielberg. The Hollywood production received 7 Oscars from the American Film Academy.
