Zen Sushi Bar & Japanese Restaurant

Sushi bars have become all the rage in Krakow in recent years but Zen Sushi Bar & Japanese Restaurant has made its name due to the interesting layout of the restaurant as well as the quality of the dishes the chefs have been serving up. It is located not far from the Market Square and other popular attractions in the centre of Krakow.

The interior design is what makes this sushi bar different from the others. On the first floor you can choose what you want to eat by taking a dish as it goes around the table on a conveyor belt. Items are colour coded according to price. On the second level there is a more conventional style with seating on traditional floor mats in separate booths decorated in typical Japanese fashion.

The menu is extensive with so much on offer but fortunately the staff are experienced and on hand to assist you with choosing your meal. For sushi there are many options. You can have Maki which consists of 6 pieces of sushi made with a few simple ingredients wrapped up in nori seaweed. Nigiri is a sushi dish with a rice ball covered with either seaweed or a piece of egg omelette or a vegetable. There are many soups to choose from. For mains you can have tofu, chicken, salmon, duck or sea bass dishes. There are also many salads and noodle dishes on the menu. For drinks, try the traditional sake or a whole range of other drinks, non-alcoholic or alcoholic.

Zen Sushi Bar offers a take away service. They also offer a catering service which includes sushi workshops and additional Japanese culinary services. You can also try their other restaurant, Tao by Zen - Teppanyaki & More, in the Podgorze district of Krakow.
